How the Silent plays

The basics
- The Silent has 70 HP, 3 Energy and 99 Gold, and she is the character built around card flow.
Her relic, Ring of the Snake, draws 2 extra cards on the first turn of every combat, so she opens on seven cards instead of five.
Starting deck
- The starting deck is twelve cards, two more than any other character: five Strike, five Defend, one Neutralize and one Survivor.
Neutralize costs 0, deals 3 and applies 1 Weak, which cuts that enemy's Attack damage by 25%.
Survivor gives 8 Block for 1 Energy and makes you discard a card, which this pool treats as a trigger, not a drawback.
Her three engines
- Her damage comes through three engines: Poison, which makes an enemy lose HP at the start of its turn and drops by 1 each turn.
Shivs, 0-cost Attack tokens that hit for 4 and Exhaust.- And Sly, which plays a card for free when it is discarded from your hand before the end of your turn.
- All three reward a big hand and heavy draw.

What to pick up
Fits any deck
- Three cards fit any deck at any point.
Adrenaline costs 0, gives 1 Energy, draws 2 cards and Exhausts.
Afterimage gives 1 Block for every card played, which adds up fast with 0-cost cards.
Footwork adds 2 Dexterity, so each Defend blocks 7 instead of 5.
The Act 1 fix
- Act 1 is a damage problem, with some elites over 120 HP, and the cheap fix is Shivs, 0-cost Attacks that deal 4 and Exhaust.
Leading Strike deals 3 and adds 2 Shivs, 11 damage for 1 Energy, and Blade Dance adds 3 Shivs for 12 damage.
Her Shiv plan
Shivs are her strongest plan.
Accuracy doubles each one, from 4 damage to 8.
Knife Trap costs 2 and plays every Shiv in the Exhaust Pile again, so ten spent Shivs return as 40 damage.
Blade of Ink adds 2 Inky Shivs that deal 5 and apply 1 Weak each, and it does not Exhaust.
Discard decks rely on Sly cards, which play for free only when discarded before the end of the turn. Played by hand, Tactician and Reflex cost 3, so outlets such as Tools of the Trade and Calculated Gamble come first.- Poison is too slow for Act 1 and her weakest plan in this version.

Malaise and upgrade order
Malaise costs X: the enemy loses X Strength for the rest of the fight and gains X Weak. It blunts any elite or boss, and Adrenaline raises X by one.
Leg Sweep is the steady defensive pick at 11 Block and 2 Weak for 2 Energy.
Upgrade Adrenaline first for 2 Energy, then Footwork for 3 Dexterity and Neutralize for 2 Weak.
Two weak commons
- Two commons play worse than they read.
Dagger Spray is 4 damage to all enemies twice with nothing attached.
Flick-Flack is 6 to all enemies for 1 Energy unless a discard plays it.
Notes
The Silent unlocks after your first run with any character, won or abandoned. The unlock code runs after the run ends, and its comment names abandoning your first run as the trigger case.- Unlocking her makes the Regent the next character in the chain.
- Ring of the Snake draws on turn 1 only, so Flechettes is at its best on that seven-card turn while Precise Cut is at its worst.
Grand Finale can only be played while the draw pile is empty.
Well-Laid Plans appears only in single-player runs. Flanking and Sneaky appear only in multiplayer.
Suppress and Wraith Form are her Ancient cards.

Goes well with

- Flanking doubles the attack damage other players deal to one enemy this turn: play it on the boss before his Strength turn.
- Tank makes him take double damage and everyone else half, so her 70 HP is covered while she stacks Poison.
- Sneaky gives her Block whenever another player attacks, and he attacks every turn.
