What Tanx says

The first, second and fifth visit as a character each have their own exchange. Every other visit draws one of the repeating lines: the second-visit line or an Any climber line.

Relics offered

How the visit works

  • Tanx holds one of the three ancient seats of Glory, against Nonupeipe and Vakuu, for the first node of Act 3. There is no epoch to unlock.
  • Arrival heals all missing HP, 80% at Ascension 2.
  • He shouts, wants to fight everyone, thinks daggers are unmighty and orbs are not weapons until the Defect proves otherwise, and hands you a weapon.
  • The offer is three relics shuffled out of a pool of nine: Claws, Crossbow, Iron Club, Meat Cleaver, Sai, Spiked Gauntlets, Tanx's Whistle, Throwing Axe and War Hammer.
  • Tri-Boomerang joins the pool only when at least three Attacks in your deck can take the Instinct enchantment.

Which relic to take from Tanx

The best of it

  • Tri-Boomerang doubles the damage of three Attacks of your choice. On a deck with a few big hitters it is the best thing Tanx sells.
  • Spiked Gauntlets is 1 Energy a turn and only taxes Powers, so any deck that has already played its Powers or runs few of them takes it.
  • Sai is 7 Block every turn, the safest pick for a deck that dies to chip damage.

Deck-shaping relics

  • Claws turns up to six cards into Maul, a 1-cost double hit that buffs every Maul for the combat. Feed it your remaining Strikes and it becomes a self-scaling attack suite.
  • Throwing Axe replays the first card of each combat, so lead with your best Power or a big attack.
  • War Hammer upgrades four random cards per elite kill, and Act 3 elites are worth farming for it.

Filler picks

  • Crossbow adds a free random Attack each turn, filler that helps a deck short on damage.
  • Iron Club draws a card per four played and belongs in a 0-cost spam deck.
  • Meat Cleaver adds Cook to rest sites, removing two cards at once. Good when the deck still needs trimming.
  • Tanx's Whistle adds Whistle, 33 damage and a Stun for 3 Energy, which is only worth a slot in a deck that can pay for it.

Worth knowing

In co-op each player gets their own offer, rolled separately, and picks their own relic. Meat Cleaver's Cook also grants 9 Max HP along with the two card removals.
