Cook
Game term
Cook is a Rest Site option unlocked by the Meat Cleaver relic.
Choosing it opens your Deck, you pick exactly 2 cards to remove, confirm, and then gain 9 Max HP.
Because raising Max HP also heals the same amount, you are healed 9 as well.
The option is only offered while your Deck holds at least 2 removable cards, and Eternal cards neither count toward that nor appear in the picker.
You can back out of the selection without spending the visit.
Cook replaces the usual rest action, so you trade the 30% heal or the Smith upgrade for permanent thinning plus health.

Notes
Compared: resting heals 30% of your Max HP, Smith upgrades one card, and the Merchant charges Gold to remove a single card, more at Ascension 6.
Strong rate: two removals and 9 Max HP per Rest Site, so route Meat Cleaver through extra Rest Sites and cut Strikes and Defends first.
Cannot cook: Eternal cards such as Ascender's Bane or Greed cannot be cooked away; Purity or other Exhaust effects handle them in combat instead.
Stacking: Dragon Fruit and Mango stack more Max HP on the same run.
