On pickup, every basic Strike and Defend in your deck that can be removed is transformed at once, each into its own random card of any rarity, and a screen shows the results. Cards that cannot be removed are skipped, which includes Strikes made Eternal by Nutritious Soup. It fires once, so it cannot be traded in multiplayer.

When to take Pandora's Box
Take it almost always in Act 1: it swaps eight or nine basics for real cards, an enormous jump in power. Later, once basics are gone, it does less and can even hurt a Strike deck.
