You cannot lose more than 20 HP in a single turn.
Caps HP loss: damage that would take HP is clamped so the total lost in one round never exceeds 20.
The window: the relic counts unblocked damage from the start of your turn until the start of your next one, so the enemy turn is inside it, and the counter resets when your side starts.- Once spent: once 20 is gone, further hits that round do 0.
After Osty: the cap is applied after Osty has absorbed his share, so damage that tramples through him is still limited.
Unlock: it needs the Arise unlock.

When to take Beating Remnant
Take it in act 2 or later, when boss and elite turns can deal 30 or more damage. It is insurance for slow-scaling decks, a weak Rare in act 1 where hits rarely reach 20.
