Hungry for Mushrooms

How long has it been since you ate?
...wait, what's that fantastic smell?

Following the scent, you reach a cozy campground with all manner of tasty mushrooms being cooked! You don't consider the safety of eating these mushrooms because you are so hungry.
(So hungry that you don't notice the dead adventurer)
You bite into the Big Mushroom. Its flesh is firm, starchy, and satisfying. The more you eat, the hungrier you become, as if the mushroom is feeding on your hunger.

So yummy... you enter a food coma.
This gluttony will cost you.
You sample the Fragrant One, a small woody mushroom with a delicate scent of shellfish...

A burst of energy spurs you to run, jump, and rigorously train!
Then, a sudden stabbing pain hits you as the living fungi struggles within you during its brief final moments.

Which option to take

Big Mushroom

RelicBig MushroomMax HP+20
  • Big Mushroom only when your HP is critical, or your deck runs on Innate cards and does not care about turn 1; a three-card opening hand loses more fights than 20 Max HP saves.

Fragrant Mushroom

Our pick
RelicFragrant MushroomHP−15Upgrade2 random cards
  • Fragrant Mushroom for nearly every deck: two upgrades in Act 3 are permanent and 15 HP is one rest site.

How it plays

  • Both options are relics with a pickup effect and there is no way to decline.
  • Big Mushroom raises Max HP by 20 (healing 20 as well) but you draw 2 fewer cards at the start of every combat, so your first hand is 3 cards.
  • Fragrant Mushroom costs 15 HP on pickup and upgrades 2 random upgradable cards.
