At pickup you pick 3 cards to strip from your deck, then Folly is added. Folly is a Curse with Innate, Ethereal, Unplayable and Eternal: it starts every combat in your hand, does nothing, Exhausts itself at the end of turn 1, and can never be removed or transformed. In practice it costs one hand slot on the first turn of every fight and nothing else.

When to take Preserved Fog
The strongest thinning offer among the Ancients: three free removals for one mild tax card, Folly. Take it early, since a thinner deck pays out every fight after.
