How to beat Owl Magistrate

The Verdict loop

  • Vulnerable: 4 from Verdict is the whole fight. Applied by a monster, it skips its first tick, so it covers every attack of the next loop.
  • Next loop: Scrutiny becomes 24 (25), each Peck 6 for 36 total, and the next Verdict 49 (54).

Answering it

  • One full cycle: kill it inside the first four turns (231 HP, 247 at Ascension 8+), which most decks cannot, or bring Artifact or a cleanse for the Verdict turn.
  • Soar turn: do not waste best Attacks here, use it for Block against the 33 (36) dive.
  • Peck Assault: six small hits, where flat damage reduction shines.

Notes

  • Normal Glory encounter, always alone.
  • Soar only halves attack damage that scales with powers, so poison and similar HP loss go through in full.
  • Verdict resolves its damage and Vulnerable before Soar comes off.
  • Peck Assault is one animation but six separate hits, so each is blocked separately.
