How to beat Tough Egg

The nest

  • Ovicopter: lays these while three or fewer creatures are on its side, so up to three eggs or hatchlings can be out at once.
  • Egg: 14 to 18 HP, doing nothing. Once it hatches it gets more HP and starts biting for 4.
  • Kill an egg before it hatches or not at all, since damage left on it is erased when the hatch resets its HP.

Racing the parent

  • All of them are minions, so killing the Ovicopter clears the nest.
  • Hatchling bites are small, but the danger is three of them plus the parent.
  • Plan: race the Ovicopter and only swat eggs when a cheap kill is available.

Notes

  • Egg HP 14 to 18 (15 to 19 at Ascension 8+); Hatchling HP 19 to 22 (20 to 23 at Ascension 8+).
  • Hive normal pool, only in the Ovicopter encounter, which has five egg slots.
  • The Hatch counter starts at 2 when laid during the enemy turn and at 1 otherwise.
  • Its name changes to Hatchling once hatched.
