How to beat Toadpole

  • HP: 21 to 25 each. This weak fight is about picking the right target each turn.
  • Pattern: on your second turn the front one is spiky and the back one is not, on your third it is the reverse, and on your fourth neither is spiky.
  • Target the one with no Thorns, or accept 2 damage per hit if the kill is there.
  • Damage: Spike Spit totals 9 across three hits and Whirl is 7, so Block is cheap. Multi-hit attacks are great here except into the spiky one.

Notes

  • HP 21 to 25 (22 to 26 at Ascension 8+).
  • Underdocks weak pool, always exactly two.
  • The front and back roles are set by the encounter, not chosen at random.
  • Eye and skin patterns are rolled cosmetically per Toadpole.
