Skittish
Buff
The first time this creature is hit each turn, it gains 1 Block.
Skittish belongs to the Phantasmal Gardener, which starts with 6 stacks (7 on Ascension 8). The first time each turn that a card Attack deals unblocked damage to the gardener, it retracts and gains Block equal to the stack. Only the first such hit of the turn triggers it, and the flag resets at the end of your turn. Its HP is only 26 to 31.

Notes
What wakes it
Card damage only: the trigger checks for damage from a card, so Poison, Doom and power damage such as Serpent Form never wake it.
Arrives late: the Block arrives after the hit that caused it, so a big first hit is not reduced, it is the second and later hits that run into the wall.
Lead weak: lead with your weakest Attack, then the real damage.- Multiplayer: the stack grows by half per extra player rather than doubling.
Rules and timing
In co-op an enemy receives more of it: the amount rises with the number of players.
