This is a pre-release internal note from the closed playtest, quoted as it was written for testers. It describes a build that no longer exists; treat it as history, not as a description of the current game.

Good Friday! We have a build for you 🎉

For this build we have... the DEFECT! _applause_

Our new boi is not quite complete yet. There are currently ~63 cards and a lot of UI/art missing. If anything feels _broken_ though, please do file a bug!

The Necrobinder is taking a break this build as we work on restructing some core mechanics for her.

There was also a massive architectural overhaul for how we handle localization, so please be on the lookout for any unusual or improperly formatted strings :).

Bug fixes

  • Continuing a run into the Neow room no longer softlocks
  • Downgrading an afflicted card no longer causes a softlock
  • Fabricator enemy no longer softlocks at the start of combat
  • Fix Byrdswoop card color
  • Fix merchant positioning
  • Fix softlock if you pick a card that is already selected in a chain of Sly selection
  • Using Flex potion wasn't updating card descriptions in hand

Balance

UI & Effects

  • Added a black screen fade transition when entering rooms
  • Adjust debuff hovertip color, and font
  • Allow card upgrades to be previewed in deck view and upgarde select screen using left ctrl
  • Background for various screens is now 80% black, allowing you to see behind a bit
  • Cursor is now rendered below fade transitions
  • Minor cleanup and improved text for Rest Site buttons
  • Position, tweens, size, and asset clean up for back, confirm, and proceed buttons
  • Update card title font

Performance

  • Back, Confirm, and Proceed button assets are now sprite packed
  • Power icon assets are now sprite packed, removing jagged edges
  • Reduce memory usage by removing cloned strings
  • Settings screen assets are now sprite packed
