Infested Automaton

There's a chamber filled with dead robots.

A lone automaton still has a faintly glowing core but it's engulfed by a grotesque, organic growth and doesn't respond.
By studying the Glowing Automaton and how its inner workings are laid out, you realize that specific metals and their arrangements resist various ailments!

You apply this Technology to yourself.
At the slightest touch of the core, you are jolted by electricity.

You scamper away, feeling altered from the experience.

Which option to take

Study

Our pick
CardA random Power
  • Study by default: a random power is rarely dead and often a real engine, while a random 0-cost card is more likely filler.

Touch the Core

CardA random 0 cost card
  • Touch the Core in a thin deck that wants cheap plays or triggers on cards played, or when your pool's powers are mostly ones you would not draft.

How it plays

  • Study rolls one Power from your character's pool with regular reward odds (commons likelier than rares, no upgrade roll) and puts it straight into your deck; there is no choice and no preview.
  • Touch the Core does the same with a card whose cost is 0 (X-cost cards excluded).
  • Both are free and end the event.
