What it unlocks
The fifth character
- It unlocks The Defect, the fifth and last character: 75 HP, 3 Energy, three Orb slots and Cracked Core as the starting relic.
- The next trip to character select presents the new character. This is chapter 5 of 7 in The Defect's story.
Nothing else ships with it, but every Defect card, relic and potion epoch hangs off this one, so it is the gate to the whole Orb pool.
How to unlock Booting Up
Finish any Standard run as The Necrobinder, won or lost, and Booting Up is unlocked the moment the run ends.
The post run check reads only the character you finished with, so a death on floor 3 counts as much as a victory; Daily and Custom runs grant no epochs.
The slot exists on the Timeline only after Life and Death is revealed, because that epoch's expansion adds it.
Reveal Booting Up and the Timeline grows by six slots: Tricked, Hello! Hello!, Resolving Bugs, Confrontation, Laser Beams and Ooh Shiny!.
