How to beat Exoskeleton
Hard to Kill means at least three separate hits are needed to kill one no matter how hard you swing, so multi-hit cards and cheap attacks outperform one big strike.
The real danger is Strength stacking onto Skitter: each Enrage adds 2 damage to every one of its three (four) hits, so a pack that has enraged twice throws 5-damage hits in triplicate.
Kill the ones that opened with Mandibles or Enrage first, because they are the earliest to gain Strength.
Notes
- A Hive act enemy with 24 to 28 HP (25 to 29 at Ascension 8+).
- Many Exoskeletons is a normal fight with four of them; Exoskeletons is a weak fight with three, so the fourth, random-start slot only exists in the normal version.
- Skitter's base damage is a flat 1 and never changes with Ascension; only its hit count does.
Changes by version
- HP at A8 increased from 24-28(25-29) to 24-28(26-30)
- Exoskeleton's Hard to Kill power now calculates the correct damage preview on attacks when the Exoskeleton also has Vulnerable
- Hovering over Exoskeleton enemy with an attack that deals more than 9 damage now properly reduces the amount of damage displayed on the card
All 8 patch notes5 older
- Can no longer randomly roll the Enrage move
- Exoskeleton power has been renamed to Hard to KillTextInternal playtestRoach monster has been renamed to Exoskeleton
- Added clarification for Exoskeleton: the roach does not die (does not trigger Gremlin Horn)
- Exoskeleton now revives enemy for 15 instead of decreasing damage
- Exoskeleton power is affected by non-card damage
