Suck
Buff
Whenever this creature deals unblocked attack damage, it gains 1 Strength.
Suck belongs to the Fossil Stalker, which starts every fight with 3 stacks. After each of its attacks, it counts the hits that dealt unblocked damage and gains 3 Strength per such hit. Its two-hit Lash (3 damage per hit, 4 on Ascension 9) can therefore add 6 Strength in one turn, while a fully blocked attack adds nothing.

Notes
What it counts
Per hit: only powered attacks count, and the tally is per hit, not per target, so a hit that lands on both a pet and its owner is counted once.
The moves: Tackle deals 9, or 11 on Ascension 9, plus 1 Frail, Latch deals 12, or 14, and Lash is chosen at random after the opening Latch.
Block it: block every hit and it never grows, let two Lashes through and it is hitting like an elite.
Rules and timing
It only counts damage from Attack cards and enemy attacks. HP loss and damage dealt by relics, potions and other powers do not count.
Changes by version
- Suck move damage decreased
- Fossil Stalker and Infested Prism monsters' Suck power no longer double-dips on Strength gain when a hit kills Osty and "tramples" over to also hit the player
- Fossil Stalker's Suck power no longer applies Strength in the middle of multi-attacks, so the number listed in their damage intent will now be accurate
All 4 patch notes1 older
- Mite enemy was not gaining health with its SUCK attack
Internal playtest notes are from before the Early Access release. Names and numbers in them can differ from the game today.
