This or That? event art, Slay the Spire 2

This or That?

Arms suddenly jut out from a nearby hole, clutching a suspicious bag of riches and a clearly cursed relic.

“This... or That?”
a scratched-up voice whispers from below.
You grab the bag and as soon as you do, a THIRD hand appears and clutches at you!!

After a frantic struggle, it releases—the arms and the hole have vanished.
You grab the Cursed Relic. As soon as you grasp it, shackles materialize on your wrists.

You hear a ghostly laughter and a bright plume of fire fills your vision!

The hole and arms are gone.

Which option to take

A relic of any rarity outlasts about 55 gold, and Clumsy is among the mildest curses because it leaves your hand on its own. It is even a bonus with Darkstone Periapt.

This

HP−6Gold+41 to 68
  • Take This only when you are a few gold short of a removal or a relic you have already seen in a shop, or when your deck already carries several curses.

How it plays

  • This: costs 6 HP, unblockable and unaffected by powers, and pays a gold amount rolled between 41 and 68 when the event opens; the option shows the exact figure.
  • That: pulls the next relic from your run's relic queue, with rarity rolled the same way as an elite reward, then adds Clumsy to your deck.
  • Clumsy is Unplayable and Ethereal, so when drawn it wastes that hand slot for one turn and exhausts itself at end of turn.
