How to beat Sludge Spinner
Alone and weak-pool: treat it as a two-turn kill. HP: 37 to 39, so most starting decks get there by turn three.
Speed matters: every Rage adds 3 permanent Strength.
Weak from Oil Spray: only lasts a turn and only shaves a quarter off attacks, so it rarely changes your plan.
If you must block: Slam is the hit worth blocking, since Rage and Oil Spray are under 10 before Strength.
Trick: hold Block for the turn after a Rage, since that is when the buffed Slam can come.
Notes
- HP 37 to 39 (41 to 42 at Ascension 8+).
- It is one of the four Underdocks weak encounters, so it can only appear in the first three monster rooms of that act.
- The compendium hides Rage, so the Strength gain is not listed on its bestiary card.
