The moment an attack that scales with powers gets unblocked damage through to you, the power removes itself and then kills you outright.

Notes
What sets it off
Unblocked attacks only: only unblocked attack damage counts, HP loss from your own cards, Statuses, or other unpowered sources does not set it off.
Death check: the kill goes through the normal death check, so a death-prevention relic can still save you, but the power is already gone by then.
Once it is on: every enemy attack for the rest of the fight must be fully blocked.
When to take it: only when you can end the fight this turn or next, or block everything.
Rules and timing
It only counts damage from Attack cards and enemy attacks. HP loss and damage dealt by relics, potions and other powers do not count.
